Borrowing
from the past and interpreting it for today
Blend
old with new for a unique and fabulous style that
suits your lifestyle and personality.
Below
we have outlined a series of photos showing decor
from actual client's homes achieved
with
purchases from Marie Antoinette.

|
(Above left) A large Louis XV style dining room table and set of 8
caned back chairs
looks great in our client's dining room. They asked me to
find a buffet for them while on a buying trip; I found two Louis XV style buffets in France and (above right)
they picked the one with a curved side, giving an airy feel to compliment the large table.

In
this next set of photos our
client wanted an updated look
to her living room (see before
photos)
She
asked Marie Antoinette to help
her make the change. She loves
the look of Louis Philippe
period furniture, the deep
wood tone and straight line of
that period.

We
provided the solution by
offering a Louis Philippe
period armoire as a
background for their
living room, a substitute
for the white dated buffet
(left), offering the same,
much needed, storage for
her dishes. A
pair of Charles X chairs on
each side of the armoire, a
round Empire
period table on a corner, and a Louis
XV gilded mirror above a console complete the
decor. The Louis XV style console was refinished in a darker tone
to match the new decor.

|
Our
client already had a pair of cream Louis XV style
armchairs (left). Painting the chairs burgundy with
gilt accents, and re-upholstering them to match
the new living space created a very lovely setting
for the bay window. A Charles X period table
was purchased to complete
the look..
|
|
|
|
Our
client chose a Louis Philippe commode to replace the
white credenza (left). The commode fits in
so well with
the decor and
is very practical too as it holds our client's
flatware and table linens.

Practical
as well as beautiful, this Louis XV style armoire
gives a very warm feel to the family room and is
used to hide the entertainment centre!
|
A
Louis XVI style bookcase or Vitrine gives a cosy
feel to the back
wall and serves to display a collection of
ornamental glassware. On
the right side wall, we found a painting of Louis
Philippe as a boy in
a gilded frame for our client, a perfect fit.

| In
this second set of photos, decorator
Carol McFarlane of Carol MacFarlane Design
selected many lovely pieces from Marie Antoinette
to decorate a young professional woman's first
house. |

of dining room, Louis XV style painted armoire,
Louis XV style dining
room and chairs. Carol had the dining room
walls painted red to create
a warm feeling.
|
A
Charles X period painted secretaire placed next to
the fireplace creates
a cosy feel and is also very practical with
drawers for storage.

|
Louis
XVI style canape and the two armchairs were the
perfect size
for the small living room. The green wrought
iron Belle Epoque coffee table adds an element of
color and casual feel to the
otherwise formal canape.
|
The
kitchen opening to the red dining room was painted
pink, a
smashing idea from Carol. With the pair of pink
armchairs and the painted
commode, Carol created a feeling of living in
Paris.

A
Louis XV style painted with gilt details
desk/console was placed
in front of the living room window to
creates a niche for the window. It is also
practical for our client's laptop
and for those times she just wants to gaze out of the window.

A
Louis Philippe period day bed and one door armoire
where put in the
guest bedroom. The Linens and framed
engravings are also from Marie Antoinette.
